PE

By the end of Key Stage 1, our children will be competent and confident in a range of fundamental movements and skills, across a wide range of sports and activities They will be inspired to succeed and will be effective team players who play and perform co-operatively and competitively with an understanding of fairness and respect.

Our curriculum will enable children to:

1. Engage in regular physical activity.

2. Use talk as a tool for learning by talking about their own and others performances.

3. Celebrate their own and others’ success.

4. Experience a broad range of sports and activities, including those from other cultures.

5. Recognise and celebrate local, national and global sporting events.

National Curriculum Programme of study

A high-quality physical education curriculum inspires all pupils to succeed and excel in competitive sport and other physically-demanding activities. It should provide opportunities for pupils to become physically confident in a way which supports their health and fitness. Opportunities to compete in sport and other activities build character and help to embed values such as fairness and respect.

Aims
