Computing at our school

The children will learn to…

  • Understand algorithms and how they are used in technology
  • Recognise common uses of information technology outside of school
  • Use technology and the internet safely
  • Create their own content and programs
  • Use logical reasoning to predict the behaviour of programs
  • Debug simple programs
  • Use technology purposefully to create, organise, store, manipulate and retrieve digital content

The intent of our Computing curriculum is to teach children to be researchers, creators and responsible and confident users of technology. Our curriculum will enable children to find new information to excite them, ask questions about life and know how to find out about the wider world. The children will create their own content using a range of hardware and programs. They will learn how to keep themselves safe within an ever changing world and develop an awareness of their presence online. Our children will be equipped with skills that are fit for the future.
