Parent letter 10th December
As we approach the end of term, it has been a wonderful experience to be in the school listening to the children singing in preparation for the concerts next week. The staff and children have been working hard through the day to make the shows a really special event and we are looking forward to seeing you all next week.
The recent government announcements have not yet directly affected schools but it has become usual to have big news dropped quickly so we will need to be aware of this and expect the unexpected. As it stands, it is still safe to put on the Christmas Shows but we would be grateful if audience members wear masks in line with government guidelines for indoor spaces and we will ensure the hall is well ventilated. You will also have received a message asking you to let us know which shows you will be attending so we can manage the numbers safely.
I would like to thank all parents for being so supportive of the school this term, the partnership with Orchards has been a big undertaking but with your help, it has been a very positive experience. Being on both the gates at the beginning and end of each day is a real delight and I am loving the positive atmosphere.
It has been a pleasure building the partnership and we have already started some great links between the two schools:
- Orchards Year 5 readers working with children at Field Place
- Field Place Year 2 providing a dance number for the Orchards Move It show in the Spring Term
- Both schools providing an audience for dress rehearsals.
- Closer alignment of non-uniform days and Inset days
There are many plans in place to build on this relationship and I can honestly say I have been very impressed with the progress that has been made in such a short time. The biggest thing that has impressed me – the children – they have been amazing.
Please accept my best wishes for a Happy Christmas and a profitable New Year to all the supporters of the school.
Best wishes Dr. Jones
