Week beginning October 19th
Parent Consultations
Thank you to everyone who has already booked a parent consultation. Bookings are through parentmail this year, which should be quick and easy to do. As explained in the previous parentmail, to keep everyone safe, we will not be holding face-to-face consultations and all meetings will be over the phone.
Teachers will use the contact information held on our system to call parents. This will be the phone number registered under the primary carer. If you know this information is out of date, please let the office know on Monday.
We have allowed ten minutes for each call and we will need to stick to these timings in order to ensure parents are not kept waiting. The call will probably come through as ‘number unknown’ so please be prepared to take the call. If the phone is not answered, teachers will try two further times during the first 5 minutes. After that, it will not be possible for the parent consultation to take place. Please do not call the school, as no one will be taking general calls during the parent consultation period.
Alien Day
Year Two will be having their Alien Day on Wednesday. We are looking forward to everyone dressing up and to welcoming back Badger Class. There will be no PE for year two on Alien day, so the children do not need to bring in any additional clothing.
MUFTI DAY
At this time of year, we would usually be supporting 'Turning Tides' through a Harvest Festival. In the past, this had meant bringing in food items. However, this will not be possible at the moment. I have spoken to 'Turning Tides' and they would welcome financial contributions so they are able to purchase the most needed items to support the local homeless community. We have decided to make Friday a MUFTI day and would kindly ask that children bring in £1.00 to support the charity. If your child has PE on this day, could they please wear trainers and home clothes that would be suitable and safe to do PE in.
Christmas card Designs
The children will be bringing home their Christmas card designs on Thursday. You can then decide whether you would like to place an online order for any products. If you make an order, the designs will then need to be returned to school on Monday 2nd November so we can send them to the company to be processed.
Badger class will be designing their cards on Thursday and we will then send them home on Friday. They will not have as much time as the other children to do this, but we do not want them to miss the opportunity.
Half Term
Next week is our last week before half term. Friday is our last day and unless major Government changes take place, the children are due back in school on Monday 2nd November.
A couple of reminders/requests
Dogs are not allowed on the School site. Last week a couple of parents/carers brought their dogs down the path to the main gate. There is a clear sign at the entrance stating that dogs cannot be brought on the site. Unless you have an additional adult to look after your dog while children are being collected, please leave dogs at home.
Can we please ask that water bottles are not put inside bookbags. We are finding that each week, five to six school books are being ruined due to leaks. Our home reading books cost £5.00 each and we need to do our best to look after them.
With Thanks
