Week beginning June 6th

During this period of partial closure Field Place Infant and Nursery School continues to be open for provision for vulnerable pupils and children of key workers. Irrespective of any partial closure or collaboration with another school, the safeguarding of all our children remains our top priority. At this time, our school will continue as normal in supporting our vulnerable children and if anyone has any questions regarding this, they are asked to make contact with Theresa Alford, Headteacher 01903 700234. Please contact the school if you have any queries (office@fieldplace.org.uk)

Dear Parents

Please find attached the learning newsletters for this week.

New Classes

You should now have received information about your child’s class and teacher for September.  Teachers are very excited about their new classes and will be talking to your child’s previous teacher to ensure that transition works well in September.  Please support your child in this process by viewing the welcome videos on the website.

Please note that decisions around classes and teachers are operational and strategic decisions made by teaching professionals.  These decisions involve a range of staff, including the previous class teacher and senior leaders such as the SENDCO, deputy and headteacher.  Some of the areas that professionals need to consider are gender, attainment, special needs, support levels and friendships where possible. This policy is not peculiar to Field Place and no schools, at any point in the education system, are able to consider parental preference when sorting classes.  The school is therefore unable to respond to requests from parents regarding class organisation for September.

Reports

School reports will be given/sent to families this week. If your child is attending school, they will be given the report to bring home.  Parents of children who are not in school will have the opportunity to come and collect the report from the front entrance of the school at the following times:

Please remember to socially distance if you arrive when others are collecting.

Any reports that have not been collected by Friday 10th of July will be posted to you.  If your child is not currently attending school and you believe they have left personal items on the premises, please call the office before collecting your report and we will do our best to return these to you.

If your child joined the school after the February half term, teachers are unable to write a meaningful report due to the school closure.

Gifts

Some parents have asked if it is possible to give end of year gifts to teachers.  If parents wish to give a gift to their child’s teacher, this can be left on the table outside the front entrance.  We will then keep the gifts for 72 hours before making sure they are given to teachers.  Please make sure you label any gifts clearly.  Teachers have asked me say that they never expect gifts and a smile and thank you is just as appreciated.

September 2020

The Government published guidance this week on the measures schools need to take to ensure all children can return to school safely in September.  We will be reviewing our risk assessments and will let you know as soon as possible the measures we intend to put in place for September.
