Mouse class: Bonfire night gallery
In Mouse class, we enjoyed looking at videos and pictures of fireworks; observing the way they dance, move and sound. We began our exploration with drama; moving like the fireworks and thinking of ways we could represent this with our bodies. This helped during our art sessions, when children were able to explore using a range of media, tools and strokes.
The paintings have been produced using a range of tools such as; paintbrushes, clay sticks, glue sticks, fingers and pipe cleaners. With the flame sculptures, children thought carefully about the shapes the flames would take for a bonfire and positioned them to add effect and detail.
We looked at a range of warm colours to create the flame sculptures and had sessions where we mixed them ourselves, to investigate colour mixing too.
