Week beginning June 15th
During this period of partial closure Field Place Infant and Nursery School continues to be open for provision for vulnerable pupils and children of key workers. Irrespective of any partial closure or collaboration with another school, the safeguarding of all our children remains our top priority. At this time, our school will continue as normal in supporting our vulnerable children and if anyone has any questions regarding this, they are asked to make contact with Theresa Alford, Headteacher 01903 700234. Dear Parents
It has been lovely welcoming year one children back this week. They have all settled very well and are enjoying school. In last week’s parentmail I forgot to mention bringing in a fruit snack, so apologise for any confusion. The Government are not currently providing fruit, so the children are welcome to bring in an item of fruit from home as a morning snack. Also, please ensure that if your child has asthma, they bring their school inhaler back so it can be put in their bubble classroom.
Reception
Thank you for completing this week’s survey. We look forward to welcoming another 11 children back to school on Monday June 15th and then another 5 or 6 on Monday June 22nd. All other families have now indicated they do not want their child to return to school before September. We look forward to seeing all current reception children back in school from September.
Year One
On Monday, we will be sending out the final return to school survey for year one children. To ensure that teachers can plan effectively for the children in school, we have decided that Monday 22nd June is the last opportunity for children to return. This will mean teachers can plan four weeks of learning for their bubble, knowing that it is a stable group of children.
Year Two
The school was always concerned around the Government’s initial plans to bring back all primary aged children, as we do not have the space or teachers available to create small bubbles for all year groups. We have missed year two children enormously and the school simply does not feel the same without them. However, following the announcement from the Government this week, we have to accept that it will not be possible for year two to return to school before the summer holiday. We will continue to provide online learning and support to the children and I know that junior schools are preparing transition information to support the move from infant to junior schools. We are in contact with the junior schools to ensure that they have all the information they need to support children when they arrive.
The school remains open for the key worker and vulnerable children in year two.
