Forest Schools Event
The children had a fantastic time last week with our Forest School Taster Session. The event supported our Curriculum Cornerstones of Growth Mindset and Love of the Natural World. The children certainly challenged themselves and many would not give up until they had managed to light a small piece of kindling. They used observation skills to look for wildlife, completed a woodland craft and of course enjoyed cooking and eating marshmallows! Later in the year, we are planning to plant additional trees on the school grounds to support further Forest School work in the future.
Scootfit
Children from reception through to year two will have the opportunity to take part in a Scootfit session this week. Scootfit will be providing the scooters and safety equipment for the sessions which will take place on Wednesday and Thursday next week. If your child has long hair, please be aware that they will need to wear a helmet, so high ponytails, headbands and buns will not be suitable. The children can wear their hair loose or a plait from that nape of the neck should be fine. If the weather is cold, please could they bring in a pair of gloves. Energy Kidz
Energy Kidz Breakfast & After School Clubs – W/C 20.01.20 – Theme of the Week – Chinese New Year
We’ll be discovering our own little slice of Asia this week as we embrace the dazzling parades, extravagant performances and colourful displays whilst celebrating Chinese New Year.
Choose your own destiny making Fortune Cookies, commemorate the zodiac animal of the New Year designing Rat Finger Puppets and prepare for an exciting traditional game of Tsoo! Tsoo!
